The Salisbury Police Department (SPD) was notified that current SPD Officer, Michael B. Scroggs, was arrested by Rowan County Sheriff’s Office deputies as a result of an investigation into a domestic violence incident just after midnight today. Scroggs was charged with misdemeanor, assault on a female. He was off duty when the incident occurred. Once released on bond, Scroggs will be placed on administrative leave with pay from his duties pending further inquiry by the SPD Professional Standards Unit.
Scroggs has been employed with the SPD since 2021, holds the rank of Police Officer, and is currently assigned to field training.
