If you’ve seen public services crews working, you have probably seen Bryan Solomon. He is a native of Salisbury and a seven-year veteran of the City of Salisbury Public Services Department. As a maintenance worker, Bryan performs his job throughout the year in varying weather conditions for extended periods of time.
His duties include limb and leaf collection, street maintenance and snow removal during inclement weather. “The favorite part of my job is that every day is something different. Working with public services, I am not limited to being in a truck all the time or doing one task repeatedly. I also have the opportunity to come face-to-face with people in my community and by doing my job it allows me to help them. This is an aspect of my job that makes it rewarding.”
