Michael Cotilla is the code services coordinator for the City of Salisbury Community Planning Services, specializing in minimum housing. Michael has been employed with the city since 2010, starting in Salisbury-Rowan Utilities before transitioning to code services.
His duties include enforcing the city’s minimum housing ordinance, overseeing the code services division, conducting minimum housing hearings with property owners and responding to concerns from tenants.
“The favorite part of my job is serving our citizens; although, I couldn’t do it alone but with the help of my fellow code officers and other city departments. It honestly brings me great pleasure to know that code services plays a part of securing our city and making it safer. This affects me and my family because I live in the city limits as well.”
