On Easter, the most important holy day for Christians, nearly 300 worshippers were killed and another 500 were injured in Sri Lanka due to a hateful and senseless act of violence targeting Christians.
On behalf of the Salisbury City Council and the City of Salisbury, I extend our heartfelt and sincerest sympathies to the families who’ve lost loved ones and to everyone impacted by this tragic event.
Around the world this is the season many people of different faith traditions are observing holy days signifying the reaffirmation of our faith and the renewal of the spirit. May we hold fast to the love, peace, hope and respect for humanity these observances highlight.
Sincerely,
Al Heggins
