Salisbury Police are currently investigating a shooting that took place on Sunday, June 30, at the Waffle House Restaurant located at 501 E. Innes St. in Salisbury. Police were originally dispatched to the establishment for a disturbance, but additional calls advised that a subject had been shot. Officers arrived on scene and located Dundrielle Lafrank Blakeney of East Spencer with multiple gunshot wounds. Blakeney was transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for further treatment.
Salisbury Police Violent Crimes Detectives were able to identify Jaquan Kamai Morris of Woodleaf as the shooter. Warrants have been issued for Morris for Attempted First Degree Murder and also Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. Morris may be in the area of Mocksville, Woodleaf or Salisbury. Morris should be considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach the suspect.
