September is GO TRANSIT month in the City of Salisbury, NC.
This is an opportunity to recognize and show appreciation for the public service of City of Salisbury Transit staff who keep Salisbury moving.
“We are excited to celebrate Go Transit Month and recognize the city’s transit staff,” said Transit Director Rodney Harrison. “Each day, transit operators collect fares, help riders find their way, handle safety issues, and manage their way through Salisbury. They handle a lot behind the wheel and deserve our thanks. We have activities planned for staff and we want riders and residents to get involved as well.”
In honor of Go Transit Month, employees will provide riders with free water while supplies last. Riders and residents are encouraged to join in celebrating the hard-working transit operators throughout the month of September. This could be as simple as a smile and a wave as you’re boarding and a “thank you” when you leave. You can also spread the word on social media by sharing a photo with your favorite transit operator and tagging the City of Salisbury Facebook page.
