The Salisbury Police Department Vice/Narcotics Unit with the assistance of the Salisbury Police Department CID and SRT, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Department Special Investigative Unit and SRT, executed two simultaneous search warrants on Wednesday morning (9/25/2019). These search warrants were the result of a several month long investigation by the Salisbury Police Vice/Narcotics Unit. Multiple firearms and drugs were found during these raids.
Location 1- 105 Elm St apartment 4-- 8.8 grams of powder cocaine, 3.3 grams of crack cocaine, 47 grams of marijuana and $6227.00 were seized. Aron Alexander Hatchett (b/m 9/28/1997) was charged with 5 counts of Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled substance; 4 counts of Manufacture Control Substance Schedule II; 3 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Manufacture Schedule 2; 2 counts of Possession with Intent to Manufacture Controlled Substance Schedule I, and 1 count of Trafficking in Cocaine. Mr. Hatchett received a $350,000 bond and has a first appearance scheduled for September 27, 2019 in Rowan County District Court.
Location 2- 204 Lloyd St. -- 6 handguns, 1 shotgun, 2845 grams (6.27 pounds) of marijuana, 30 dosage units of Tramadol, $4300.00 and drug paraphernalia were seized. Dennis James Wilks (b/m 05/28/1955) was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Controlled Substance Schedule IV, Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substance and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Mr. Wilks was given a $50,000 bond and has a first appearance scheduled for September 27, 2019 in Rowan County District Court.
It should be noted, that in conjunction with Salisbury Police Investigations during the month of September, officers have already removed 24 firearms from the streets of Salisbury.
