This month’s employee spotlight highlights Ashley Myers.
Ashley Myers is a senior maintenance technician at the water plant for the Salisbury-Rowan Utilities’ (SRU) Department. He has been employed with the city for ten years.
Before transitioning to a senior maintenance technician, Ashley was a lift station senior maintenance technician. He oversaw 34 lift stations to ensure wastewater flowed from a low level to a higher level in areas where elevation is not sufficient for gravity flow. In his current role, Ashley is responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment at the water tanks and booster stations throughout Rowan County and the SRU water plant.
“I joined SRU ten years ago, and I still take pride in being a part of this amazing team. I also enjoy meeting residents and building relationships. When working in the field, residents often come out of their homes to speak and ask questions about the water process. It’s always nice to interact and inform them of how they receive quality water from SRU.”
