The City of Salisbury’s Customer Service Department makes it easy for residents to pay their bills at no additional charge through the official City website at www.salisburync.gov/billpay. Residents of Salisbury can pay their bills fast and on time with no “convenience fees.” In particular, the online payment method will save both time and money because of its easy and user-friendly format. Patrons have 24-hour access to the service seven days a week, with the added benefit of knowing what they owe and when to pay in advance.

Public hearing to be held on Fibrant lease agreement

The Salisbury City Council has scheduled a public hearing on the proposed lease of the city’s Fibrant broadband fiber network. The hearing will begin at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 217 S. Main St.

Due to inclement weather, drivers are being asked to stay off the roads if possible, and to exercise caution when driving due to slippery roads.
Regarding city services:
- The Salisbury Customer Service Center is closed
- Salisbury Transit have suspended bus services as of 10:40 today
- Recycling collection services have been suspended
- Parks and Recreation events and programs are cancelled
- Parks and Recreation facilities will close at 5:00 p.m. today
- Girls Who Code is cancelled

United Way and Rowan County are Giving in Harmony

The City of Salisbury employees are gearing up for the 2022 - 2023 Rowan County United Way Campaign. This year’s theme is “Whole Hearted Harmony.” Per the Rowan County United Way, “When community leaders embrace our diversity, leverage our combined resources, and partner with other Rowan residents, we extend and expand our ability to address the adversity that some citizens face.”

“I am elated that Salisbury is taking an active role in supporting our local United Way by donating, volunteering or doing both,” said City Manager Jim Greene. “It takes everyone – city employees and community members- working together in our community to achieve this year’s fundraising goal. I encourage everyone to donate to United Way to support community agencies that help us and our families, neighbors and friends.”

The City of Salisbury campaign is an opportunity for uniting current and retired employees to support Rowan County United Way solutions that improve mental health, substance abuse, healthy lifestyle behaviors and basic needs.

The goal set by the city this year is to raise over $40,000. The Rowan County campaign goal is $1,375,000. The City of Salisbury will host different fundraising events to help reach the City’s goal.
