BlockWork 2020 Make-Up Day

The BlockWork make-up work day is scheduled for this coming Saturday, October 31, 2020.  We will be on the 200 block of South Clay Street working from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. No pre-registration necessary, we’ll have forms available on site.

A host of community partners, including Rowan County, the City of Salisbury, Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, Rowan-Salisbury School System, the Rowan Chamber of Commerce, Rowan Economic Development, NCWorks and the Centralina Workforce Development Board will hold a virtual community job fair on Thursday, Nov. 12, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The fair is open to the public.

Community Classroom - Fair and Impartial Policing

Community members can attend a free training session that reflects a science-based approach to understanding human biases and prejudices. The purpose of this training is to enhance community members' understanding of the fair and impartial policing training that the Salisbury Police Department is/will be getting and the apply those concepts to their own lives and decision-making.

Public Comment Now Open For CDBG Performance Report

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program funds community needs and proposed solutions in the areas of Housing, Special Needs, Economic Development, and Non-Housing Community Development. The program's Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) can be reviewed by the public and has a period of public comment. Public comment is an opportunity for members of the community to give input on a specific issue that they find important, to let us know we’re headed in the right direction.

SRU recognized for outstanding state drinking water standards

Salisbury-Rowan Utilities (SRU), the water and wastewater provider for the City of Salisbury and other Rowan County municipalities, has been honored for exceeding federal and state drinking water standards last year. SRU was one of only 55 out of 6,000 North Carolina water systems to achieve the recognition for 2019.
