To prioritize the safety of residents and staff, all City of Salisbury non-essential offices and buildings will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26 due to winter storm Fern.
This includes City Hall, City Office Building, Customer Service Center, 130 South Main Street, 434 Calhoun Street, all recreation centers, parks and greenways. The police department records and evidence and administrative support services will be closed. Police and Fire public safety personnel will serve as usual.
Salisbury Transit and Salisbury Connect Microtransit service will not operate. Garbage collection will continue on the regularly scheduled days. There will be no leaf or limb service.
The City will clear emergency routes first, followed by access locations and major streets. The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will plow travel lanes of state-maintained roads.
The City will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates on the website SalisburyNC.gov and Facebook facebook.com/CitySalisburyNC.
