The City of Salisbury has named Greensboro Police Captain Shon Fitzgerald Barnes as its deputy police chief. Barnes has an extensive background in law enforcement, with a career spanning nearly two decades serving the City of Greensboro Police Department.

Downtown Salisbury, Inc. leader moves under city administration

The Downtown Salisbury, Inc. (DSI) executive director will become an employee of the City of Salisbury, creating a semi-public/private partnership with the Main Street program, effective Saturday, July 1. The executive director will report to Assistant City Manager Zack Kyle.

Salisbury City Council receives guidance on Immediate Entry Warrants from N.C. Attorney General’s Office

Salisbury, N.C., (Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017) – The Salisbury City Council has received correspondence from the North Carolina Attorney General’s office that states the local elected body cannot restrict the use of immediate entry warrants, also known as “no knock” warrants, beyond the restrictions that state and federal law already provide.

On Friday February 24, 2017 Salisbury Police arrested Tyler Aaimer Spencer Nichols, age 17 of 641 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury. He was charged with for 1 count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, 4 counts of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and 3 counts of larceny.
