The City of Salisbury will operate on the following schedule for the Presidents’ Day holiday, Monday, Feb. 17.
The City of Salisbury, in partnership with Rowan County, is encouraging residents to prepare for the 2020 U.S. Census, a count of the country’s population. The census provides important information needed to receive federal funding for schools, hospitals, roads, infrastructure and other needs.

Officer Smith responded to a call on Monday, Sept. 16, 2019. The call was in reference to a stranded female looking for help in Salisbury with no money or way to travel. Officer Smith contacted the domestic violence shelter but could not find placement.
Cheerwine fans from across the country are invited to the fourth annual Cheerwine Festival, Saturday, May 16, in downtown Salisbury from noon to 10 p.m.

RoCo Alerts evolves from Code Red, Nixle mass notification systems

Rowan County Emergency Management and the city of Salisbury are debuting the latest iteration of “RoCo Alerts” to keep residents up to date, in real time, about localized, emergency and non-emergency situations. It is a joint mission to provide important information at critical times.
Jeremy Cline has been employed with the city since 2011, starting as a part-time firefighter. As fire captain, during his 24 hour shift duty, Jeremy supervises and coordinates activities of firefighters assigned to station 2. He ensures compliance with departmental maintenance standards, trains firefighters in use of fire equipment and emergency medical technologies, and responds to various types of emergency and non-emergency incidents.

This month’s employee spotlight highlights Ashley Myers. Ashley Myers is a senior maintenance technician at the water plant for the Salisbury-Rowan Utilities’ (SRU) Department. He has been employed with the city for ten years.
