SRU recognized for outstanding state drinking water standards

Salisbury-Rowan Utilities (SRU), the water and wastewater provider for the City of Salisbury and other Rowan County municipalities, has been honored for exceeding federal and state drinking water standards for the year of 2022. SRU was one of only 72 in the state of North Carolina to achieve this recognition in 2022.

Land and development services department begins “Walk-In Wednesdays” service

Remaining weekdays are by appointment only

Salisbury’s land and development services department transitions to a Wednesday walk-in only service and a by-appointment format for the remaining weekdays to create a more efficient and consistent permitting process for residents, business owners and developers. The new office schedule will begin Monday, Jan. 22.

Salisbury Votes on Best Downtown Holiday Decor!

The Salisbury Community Appearance Commission (CAC) has sponsored the Downtown Holiday Decoration competition for almost 2 decades (this is the 19th year), but this year was a little different. Previously, commission members toured downtown businesses and chose the winners. This year, the public was given the task, and the votes poured in!

City of Salisbury provides its Presidents’ Day operation schedule

Salisbury, N.C., (Monday, Feb. 13, 2017) – The City of Salisbury will operate on the following schedule for the Presidents’ Day holiday, Monday, Feb. 20:

City office buildings, including the Salisbury Customer Service Center and recreation centers will be closed.
The City’s Solid Waste Division will offer garbage and recycling collection on schedule.
The City’s Street Division will not offer limb or leaf collection on Monday, Feb. 20. Monday collection will take place Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Salisbury Transit will offer transit services on Monday, Feb. 20.
Fibrant Technical Support will maintain regular hours. For assistance, customers may contact Fibrant Technical Support by calling (704) 638-5300.
Salisbury Rowan Utilities’ administrative offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 20. If you have a water/sewer emergency after hours or during the holiday, please call (704) 638-5339.
The Salisbury Community Park will operate on schedule from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
