Employee Spotlight: Robert Stockton
This month’s employee spotlight is Robert Stockton, an ADA paratransit driver for the City of Salisbury Transit Department. In his role, Robert transports clients living with disabilities to destinations such as Novant medical facilities, Rowan Cabarrus Community College, W.G (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center to meet their basic needs. He also ensures safety measures are in place and provides exceptional customer service.
The WEST END Grant staff is seeking community input next month as Salisbury Police, parks and recreation, and planning continue the research portion of the nearly $1 million grant from the Department of Justice (DOJ) for West End crime prevention, recreational and public space development and youth.
The Salisbury Planning Board will not meet Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 4 p.m. The meeting has been cancelled.
The Salisbury Human Relations Council is currently accepting nominations for the 2023 Elizabeth Duncan Koontz Humanitarian Awards.
Tickets are now on sale for Downtown Salisbury’s 10th annual Wine About Winter, wine-tasting event. Wine connoisseurs throughout the region are invited to tour the wines of North Carolina and beyond in historic Downtown Salisbury, Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This month’s employee spotlight is Crissy McBride, the accountant for the City of Salisbury Finance Department. In her role, Crissy balances the general ledger which records all of the City’s transactions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management. She also prepares State and Federal reports, manages capital assets, and assists with the annual audit.

Salisbury-Rowan Utilities customers who receive utility bills through U.S. Mail will receive a second, corrected bill for January after a billing error sent a duplicate of December’s bill this month. Penalties will be waived for all customers for the month of January.
