City of Salisbury hosts third in series of “Community Conversations”

Salisbury, N.C. (Tuesday, November 8, 2016) – The City of Salisbury will host the third in the series of neighborhood community discussions designed to engage residents in sharing their ideas and concerns about their neighborhoods, as well as provide information about city services. The next “Community Conversation” will be held Monday, Nov. 14, at Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, 223 E. Fisher St., 7 to 9 p.m.

“City staff is looking forward to our third Community Conversation next week, particularly as we will begin our budget process in early 2017,” said Salisbury City Manager W. Lane Bailey. “One of our goals has always been to build a better, stronger Salisbury community for all people -- not just for those in one community, but all communities. While it is important for residents to learn about City processes, it is more important that we learn what our residents desire in order to move this City forward.”

Department leaders from areas such as transit, police, fire, public services, human resources and utilities will be in attendance. Members of the Salisbury City Council will also attend.

The first two Community Conversations were held at Outreach Christian Ministries and Father’s House of Glory in January 2016 and March 2016, respectively. The fourth Community Conversation will be held in late winter or early spring 2017 in a different location within the city.
