Due to the precautionary social distancing measures implemented at the recommendation of federal, state and Rowan County officials, the Salisbury Customer Service Center will limit face-to-face transactions. 

The Salisbury Police Department would like to make you aware that you may encounter changes to the way we normally operate and interact with the public. The goals of these changes is to maintain the well-being of our residents as well as the health of our officers and staff so we can continue to provide efficient and effective law enforcement services. As COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to spread and affect our day-to-day lives, police officers are still on duty and employees are still working.

To help aid preventative measures of spreading COVID-19, and following the guidance of recent coronavirus advisories provided by federal, state, and Rowan County Public Health and other agencies, the City of Salisbury recreation centers will be closed until further notice.

As the number of cases of the coronavirus, or COVID-19, continues to grow, I want to reassure our residents that the City of Salisbury is taking this situation seriously. The health and safety of you, your family, and our employees remains a priority. Following the guidance of recent coronavirus advisories provided by federal, state, Rowan County Public Health and other agencies, I’m here to provide the following updates:

To help aid preventative measures of spreading COVID-19, we strongly encourage all visitors to utilize online or phone services as an alternative to face-to-face interactions. We have options for our departments and our bill pay.

The East Fisher Street bridge, which is located between S. Lee and S. Long Streets, is closed for repairs, beginning today through next week.

The Salisbury Fire Department will host a “Weathering the Storm – Emergency & Safety Preparedness Fair,” designed to provide residents with information on how to prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies, Saturday, March 21, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Salisbury Civic Center.

Beginning on Monday, March 9, the Salisbury VA Health Care System (HCS) will only allow vehicle traffic through its Hedrick St. gate for COVID-19 (coronavirus) screenings. Per a news release “all persons entering any Salisbury VA HCS property will be screened for the COVID-19 virus. Please allow extra time to ensure that you arrive at your appointment on time.” As a result, all Brenner Avenue drivers can expect major delays.
