The City of Salisbury today asked for help from President Trump, North Carolina’s U.S. Senators Richard Burr and Thom Tillis, Congressmen Ted Budd and Richard Hudson, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (called FERC), Governor Roy Cooper, and the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (or DEQ). The City Council by resolution requested that the State of North Carolina and the United States government immediately require the implementation of flood protection measures the State and Federal Government mandated in 2015 and 2016 to prevent the disruption and destruction of infrastructure that is essential for the operation of Salisbury’s water supply system.
The Salisbury-Rowan Sports Hall of Fame was created in 2001 to honor individuals, living or deceased, who are native to, or have worked or performed in Rowan County. At the next City Council meeting on Tuesday, March 3, City Council will consider contract awards to two utility contractors, and adoption of a resolution of bond order related to two major projects within Salisbury-Rowan Utilities (SRU) – the Water Treatment Plant Improvements Project and the Grants Creek Wastewater Treatment Train Improvements Project.
Rowan County Emergency Management and the City of Salisbury are debuting “RoCo Alerts” to keep residents up to date, in real time, about local, emergency and non-emergency situations.

This is a comprehensive plan to guide the City’s growth over the next 20 years relating to land use, future growth, physical development, and capital improvements. Emergency and Safety Preparedness Fair
The Salisbury Fire Department will host a “Weathering the Storm – Emergency & Safety Preparedness Fair,” designed to provide residents with information on how to prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. The Fair will be held on Saturday, March 21, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Salisbury Civic Center.
Salisbury-Rowan Utilities (SRU) announces the re-launch of the web-based customer service tool called EyeOnWater. EyeOnWater gives customers their water usage data gathered by SRU’s “smart meters” in near real time so they can manage their accounts down to the week, day, or even hour.
