Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice Public Hearing

The City of Salisbury invites residents to attend a public hearing during the City Council meeting scheduled for June 4, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the City Hall at 217 S Main St, Salisbury, NC 28144 to provide comments on the draft Analysis of Impediments.  Comments can also be provided during an open public comment period which will begin on May 27 and conclude on June 25. 

“Fame” statue public hearing moves to the Salisbury Civic Center

To accommodate the large crowd anticipated for the “Fame” statue public hearing on Monday, June 17, the meeting location, format and time limits have changed from standard protocol in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.

The event will be held at the Salisbury Civic Center, 315 S. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave., from 6 to 8:15 p.m. Each speaker will be allotted three minutes to speak. Additional minutes cannot be provided from other attendees. Speakers are not required to sign in.

Salisbury Fire Department partners with Carolina Brotherhood and RCCC to host fire training seminar

The Salisbury Fire Department (SFD) has teamed up with Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC) and the Carolina Brotherhood to host a fire training seminar titled “The Stretch Training Day” on Saturday, June 15, at 730 Jake Alexander Blvd.

Every snout counts! The Salisbury Fire Department will be providing free demos on how they use rescue masks on pets. There will also be live music, food, vendors and the annual Fur Fun 5K at 10 a.m. $20 entry fee for the 5K, proceeds go to the Dog PAWs dog park.

As communities around the world celebrate Global Garbage Man Day on Monday, June 17 (and for some the celebration continues all week), Salisbury honors its own solid waste collection team.
