On Friday, December 29, 2023 at approximately 08:02 AM, officers with the Salisbury Police Department responded to the 3600 Block of South Main Street, Salisbury, NC for an Individual laying on the side of the road.
First responders arrived and located the individual who has been identified as Mark Edward Brotherton (48 yrs old), deceased.
Officers started an investigation and were able to determine that Mr. Brotherton was traveling toward Salisbury on a bicycle. Officers collected evidence that suggested Mr. Brotherton was struck by a vehicle traveling in the same direction that he was. Officers were also able to determine that a possible vehicle involved in the incident is a 2008 to 2015 Nissan Armada (SUV style) with damage to the right headlight area.
