We're looking for volunteers to help us build cleaner and safer neighborhoods, one block at a time.
This year's BlockWork event will take place on Saturday, oct. 26, in the 100 and 1200 blocks of West Horah Street. There will also be a prep day beforehand on Friday, Oct. 25. Volunteers can sign up for as many two-hour time slots as meets their personal schedule, and will receive a t-shirt, gloves, meals, snacks and drinks.
BlockWork is a grass-roots program started in 2010, led by Salisbury's Community Appearance Commission and Housing Advocacy Commission. The event strives to bring residents and community volunteers together to build cleaner and safer neighborhoods, one block at a time.
We welcome all skills and abilities, such as carpentry, painting, landscaping, gutter repair, pressure washing, and general clean-up.
Register by Friday, Oct. 18 to reserve a t-shirt. To sign up as a volunteer, visit www.salisburync.gov/BlockWork. For more information, email BlockWork@salisburync.gov or call Jenni Pfaff at (704) 638-5240.
