Muralist and NC Public Art Director Max Dowdle has invited the City of Salisbury to participate in his ambitious project to paint 100 murals in North Carolina’s 100 counties over the next five years. The Salisbury Public Arts Commission will help oversee the project, and would like residents’ input to ensure Salisbury’s mural reflects the values, aspirations, and culture of our community.
Through the online survey at salisburync.gov/LegacyMural, stakeholders can share their thoughts on potential mural themes, artistic techniques, and which cultural and/or historical elements relevant to Salisbury should be included.
The project will engage citizens at multiple stages of the process, including the installation of the mural where citizens of all ages may participate in a paint-by-number fashion.
The survey deadline is Sunday, Sept. 22.
