Salisbury Police Department Conducting Homicide Investigation 8-10-2024

On Saturday, August 10, 2024, at approximately 5:30 AM, the Salisbury Police Department responded to a shots fired call at 128 Rowan Mill Rd.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male subject who sustained a gunshot wound. Despite officers' immediate life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

While officers were securing the scene, it was reported that a child had arrived at Novant Hospital with gunshot wounds that were sustained during the same incident. The child was subsequently transferred to another hospital and remains in stable condition, though the injuries are life-threatening.

At this time, no suspects have been arrested. However, based on the evidence and information gathered during the ongoing investigation, we want to reassure the community that this was not a random incident.
