City Employee Donates 12 Inches of Hair to Support Those in Need

For some, a haircut is just a routine change—but for Vickie Eddleman, a 25-year City of Salisbury employee, it's an act of compassion and purpose. This spring, Vickie donated 12 inches of hair to Hair We Share, a nonprofit that creates wigs for those experiencing medical hair loss.

Two Salisburians were honored last month at the annual Elizabeth Duncan Koontz (EDK) Humanitarian Awards Program held at the Salisbury Civic Center. Honorees Kenneth L. (Kenny) Hardin and Jose Dos Santos were selected from a field of five residents and organizations nominated this year for their dedication to the community.

Victoria helps manage signal timings and coordination plans for the city’s corridors, addresses citizen requests related to signs, speed limits, parking, alleys, and safety concerns, and performs various traffic-related studies to evaluate roadways within the city.
