The City of Salisbury and Cheerwine, the iconic family-owned soft drink that has called the city home for 101 years, are teaming up to host the third annual Cheerwine Festival in downtown Salisbury, N.C., on Saturday, May 18, 2019.
The City of Salisbury’s budget and performance management department has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the City’s FY2017-2018 budget. The GFOA’s Distinguished Presentation Awards program is the only national awards program in governmental budgeting. Salisbury was one jurisdiction out of only 1,177 throughout the U.S. and Canada to receive the award.

The suspect in the bank robbery at First National Bank yesterday, and who subsequently was shot by a Salisbury Police Officer, has been identified as: Jerick Raheem Gray (4/19/76), a resident of High Point, N.C. Gray died yesterday evening at the hospital of injuries resulting from being shot by the officer. Gray was identified as the driver of the vehicle that officers pursued after the bank robbery.
