Earlier this afternoon, the Salisbury Police Department received a 911 call reporting possible shots fired within approximately three blocks of the Catawba College campus.
On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at approximately 6:48 p.m., officers with the Salisbury Police Department responded to the parking lot of 2096 Statesville Blvd. concerning an assault in progress. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 57-year-old female with life-threatening injuries consistent with an assault. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
