In summer 2019 the City of Salisbury hired McAdams, a professional engineering and design firm, to design plans to improve the safety, mobility and appearance of a 10 block section of Main Street. This project is in the stage of receiving community feedback on the plans for restriping and the opportunity to change the lanes and parking angles on Main Street.

The Rowan EDC and Governor Roy Cooper announced today that Integro Technologies Corp. (Integro Technologies), a leading machine vision integrator, will expand its operations in Salisbury. Through this expansion, the company plans to support a new logistics engineering division that will aid the retail expansion of the e-commerce industry. Integro Technologies plans to create 30 new jobs over the next five years, as well as invest $2.6 million in equipment and improvements to its facility at 301 South Main Street in downtown Salisbury.

Salisbury City Manager, W. Lane Bailey, has tested positive for COVID-19. He continues to rest and quarantine in his home.
Salisbury-Rowan Utilities (SRU), the water and wastewater provider for the City of Salisbury and other Rowan County municipalities, has been honored for exceeding federal and state drinking water standards last year. SRU was one of only 55 out of 6,000 North Carolina water systems to achieve the recognition for 2019.
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program funds community needs and proposed solutions in the areas of Housing, Special Needs, Economic Development, and Non-Housing Community Development. The program's Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) can be reviewed by the public and has a period of public comment.
