The 25th Annual 5K for the Greenway -Run/Walk & Half-Mile Fun Run will take place on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
The location will be at Knox Middle School - 1625 Park Road West, Salisbury, NC 28144, with start times as follows: 5K-8:00 a.m., and Fun Run-8:45 a.m.
Salisbury City Council today appointed James “Jim” S. Greene, Jr., current assistant city manager in Raleigh, as Salisbury’s next city manager.

Summer Camp returns to the City of Salisbury Parks and Recreation Department on June 6th. We will have 9 weeks of camp, so choose one, choose two, or all nine! Camp cost includes field trips, camp shirt, and priceless amounts of F-U-N! Breakfast and lunch will be provided by the RSSS Summer Meals Program.

The City of Salisbury is currently accepting applications for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to aid in development needs within the City of Salisbury, NC. During the period between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023, the City will receive approximately $315,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME program dollars from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Citizen input is needed to help determine community development needs and priorities for the use of these funds in the coming year. Applications are due on April 20, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
This month’s employee spotlight is Lauran McCulloh, a battalion chief for the City of Salisbury Fire Department (SFD). Immediately after graduating from South Rowan High School, Lauran attended firefighter training school and after completion joined the SFD. In her role, Lauran serves as the lead commander for any emergency incident that requires multiple companies to respond. She is also responsible for administrative duties, oversees safety and training of firefighters and ensures reports are up to date.
Three Downtown Salisbury stakeholders, local architecture and development firms, and Downtown Salisbury, Inc. (DSI) received honors at the recent North Carolina Main Street Awards ceremony.

Salisbury naturally offers great habitat for a wide variety of life. From white-tailed deer, to coyotes, turkey, otters, water fowl, and foxes. What draws them to our region is their natural habitats that surround us.
The Salisbury Police Department is currently investigating a shooting in the 300 Block of West D Ave.
