Grammy-winning Blues Traveler, Spin Doctors to headline 2022 Cheerwine Festival

Cheerwine, the iconic 105-year-old soft drink, and its hometown of Salisbury will welcome two of the country’s favorite rock bands to the Hotwire Communication Stage as this year’s headliners.

Blues Traveler, the Grammy-winning quintet, is best known for their Top 40 singles "Run-Around,” "Hook,” and "But Anyway,” as well as their improvisational live shows. The Grammy-nominated Spin Doctors rose to fame for their 5x platinum album Pocket Full of Kryptonite and hits "Two Princes" and "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong.”

This month’s employee spotlight is Jake Sterling, Internal Services Manager for the City of Salisbury Public Works Department. For more than 25 years, Jake has worked for the City in various roles ranging from a mechanic, second shift supervisor, fleet supervisor and fleet manager.

Human Relations Council hosts educational support faith forum

The Covenant Community Connection (CCC), a subcommittee of the Salisbury Human Relations Council, hosts a “Supporting Public Education” workshop, Saturday, March 26, First Presbyterian Church, 308 W. Fisher St., from 1 to 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Salisbury Police Department Press Release 03-01-2022

On February 28, 2022, at approximately 6:00 PM, a male subject, later identified as Bruce Richard Godwin (32 yrs old), approached a Salisbury Police Officer in the Police Department garage. The male subject advised that he had recently been hired by the Police Department and was there to obtain some of his equipment.

New Year’s Eve at the Bell Tower

Sunday, December 31, 2023 at 9 p.m.

Say goodbye to 2023 and ring in 2024 with your community! Bell Tower Green will be rocking with live music, refreshments, and community fellowship as we celebrate the start of a brand new year.

Salisbury's own Live House Band will take the stage at Bell Tower Green before turning to New York's Times Square for the official New Year's Eve countdown.

This event is presented by the Salisbury Parks and Recreation Department and sponsored by Novant Health.
