The City of Salisbury employees are gearing up for the 2022 - 2023 Rowan County United Way Campaign. This year’s theme is “Whole Hearted Harmony.” Per the Rowan County United Way, “When community leaders embrace our diversity, leverage our combined resources, and partner with other Rowan residents, we extend and expand our ability to address the adversity that some citizens face.”

Salisbury Fire Department responded to an outside forklift fire that was quickly extinguished by Engine 6. There were no injuries and the Salisbury Fire Department’s Fire Marshal’s Office and Rowan County Fire Marshal continue to investigate the cause of the fire along with the Henkel staff. This month’s employee spotlight is Lauran McCulloh, a battalion chief for the City of Salisbury Fire Department (SFD). Immediately after graduating from South Rowan High School, Lauran attended firefighter training school and after completion joined the SFD. In her role, Lauran serves as the lead commander for any emergency incident that requires multiple companies to respond. She is also responsible for administrative duties, oversees safety and training of firefighters and ensures reports are up to date.
