Salisbury Fire Chief Robert Parnell is pleased to announce the following promotions to Lieutenant and Engineer.
Downtown Salisbury, Inc. (DSI) and the Empire Redevelopment Task Force (ERTF) have unanimously voted to move forward with a boutique hotel concept with residential and commercial mixed-use for the redevelopment of the former Empire Hotel, awarding the development bid to Charlotte-based developer, Brett Krueger, and his affiliate, Howard Kosofsky.
The Salisbury Police Department has obtained a Juvenile Petition for the homicide that occurred on 09-12-2021 at 801 Maple Avenue Salisbury, NC 28144. The petition was served and the juvenile was released back to the custody of their guardian by the Department of Juvenile Justice.

The Salisbury Police Department is investigating the death of a 14-year old on Sunday, Sept. 12, in the 800 block of Maple Ave. Preliminary information suggests the shooting was accidental.

The Salisbury Police Department arrested Jihiem Tiquez Leach on 09-07-2021 at 1418 North Main Street, Salisbury NC, for an outstanding Homicide warrant. Mr. Leach was charged with Murder for the Brenner Crossing incident that occurred on 08/24/2021. Mr. Leach was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a no bond.
