The city of Salisbury announces the completion of the 2024 Move with the Mayor® (MWTM) Spring Mental Health and Physical Activity Challenge by reaching the silver level for its efforts to build active, connected communities.

Salisbury-Rowan Utilities (SRU), the water and wastewater provider for the City of Salisbury and other Rowan County municipalities, will focus its ongoing sanitary sewer rehabilitation project on downtown Salisbury later this month, continuing the city’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure.
On Saturday, August 10, 2024, at approximately 5:30 AM, the Salisbury Police Department responded to a shots fired call at 128 Rowan Mill Rd.
The victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene has been identified as Charles William, an 80-year-old resident of Salisbury. The child, who was also injured in this incident remains in the ICU in critical condition at a local hospital.
