City of Salisbury provides its operation schedule for the 2025 holiday season

The City of Salisbury will operate on the following schedule for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays:

• City Offices
City office buildings, including the Salisbury Customer Service Center, will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24 through Friday, Dec. 26, and on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026.

• Transit Service
Salisbury Transit will operate on Wednesday, Dec. 24 from 6:00 am – 2:40 pm. There will be no service on Christmas Day (Thursday, Dec. 25). Transit services return to regular operating hours for Friday, Dec. 26 – Wednesday, Dec. 31. There will be no service on New Year’s Day (Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026). Regular operating hours will resume on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026.

• Parks and Recreation
Recreation facilities will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24 through Friday, Dec. 26, and on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. They will reopen on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026.
 Community Park will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25.

• Public Works
Garbage and recycling collection will run as usual on Wednesday, Dec. 24. There will be no limb/yard waste collection. 
Garbage and recycling collection will not run on Thursday, Dec. 25; collection scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 25 will be picked up on Friday, Dec. 26. Collection scheduled for Friday, Dec. 26 will be picked up on Saturday, Dec. 27. There will be no limb/yard waste collection on Friday, Dec. 26 or Saturday, Dec. 27. 
The compost site will be closed on Friday, Dec. 26.
Garbage and recycling collection will run as usual on Wednesday, Dec. 31 and     Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. Limb and yard waste collection will operate on Wednesday,     Dec. 31 but not on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026.

• Salisbury-Rowan Utilities
The SRU administrative office will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24 through Friday, Dec. 26, as well as Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. For after-hours or holiday water and sewer emergencies, please call 704-638-5339.

• Public Safety
The Salisbury Police Department and Salisbury Fire Department will remain on duty and available for emergency services throughout the holidays.
