All twelve firefighters have been discharged from the hospital. While seven members have returned to full duty, five continue their recovery at home under medical care.
The investigation into the fire and the subsequent explosion is ongoing.
Mayor Tamara Sheffield and Fire Chief Bob Parnell express their gratitude for the community and partner agency support. "Thank you to everyone who has reached out, shown up, and offered a helping hand,” says Chief Parnell. Mayor Sheffield shared “Our hearts are with the family who lost their home in the fire. Losing a home means losing a lifetime of memories.” She also has expressed “my deepest gratitude to the firefighters who responded to this call”.
