On Thursday, January 22, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m., officers with the Salisbury Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive man who was found in the bushes beside a home near the intersection of South Shaver Street and East Horah Street. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male at the reported location. Salisbury Fire Department personnel and Rowan County EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The victim has been identified as Landis Darnell Glaspy (DOB: 03/17/1971). Mr. Glaspy had been unhoused and living on the streets of Salisbury for several months prior to this incident. Appropriate family notification has been made concerning his death.
Based on preliminary information gathered at the scene, this incident is being investigated as a homicide. Detectives with the Salisbury Police Department are actively working the case.
