The Salisbury Police Department is actively searching for Tavita Garcia Diaz (DOB: 05/05/1996), who has been identified as one of three individuals involved in the fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that occurred on February 20, 2026, at the intersection of South Main Street and Airport Road.
Diaz is wanted on outstanding, unrelated warrants for Identity Theft and two counts of Possessing a Fraudulent Identification. Detectives are also attempting to locate her in connection with her role in the ongoing investigation into the fatal traffic collision.
On Friday, February 20, 2026, at approximately 10:40 p.m., officers responded to a collision involving a passenger vehicle and four motorcycles. The preliminary investigation determined that a white Toyota Corolla bearing North Carolina registration LKL-7095 turned left onto Airport Road from South Main Street and entered the path of four motorcycles traveling southbound on South Main Street.
As a result of the crash, Jody Holloman (DOB: 05/06/1971) was pronounced deceased at the scene. One motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Another motorcyclist suffered minor injuries.
Following the collision, three individuals exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. Diaz has been identified as one of those individuals.
Investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating Diaz. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Benjamin at 704-638-5333.
