SALISBURY, N.C. (March 27, 2026) – The City of Salisbury is inviting residents to go behind the scenes of municipal finance at the next Cultivating Community Conversations session on Tuesday, March 31, at 6 p.m. The event will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers, located at 217 South Main Street.
This installment features the Finance Department providing participants with a look into city financial operations and the fiscal year 2027 budget process. City residents are encouraged to share their priorities and provide feedback as the city plans its spending for the year ahead.
While the series began as a bridge between residents and law enforcement, it has evolved to include all corners of local government. “Cultivating Community Conversations has been an important tool for fostering dialogue between law enforcement and the community,” said Salisbury Police Chief Patrick “PJ” Smith. “This year, we want to broaden that engagement across all City departments to share, listen, and strengthen the connections that make our city special.”
Supported by a grant from the Duke Energy Foundation, these sessions are designed as interactive forums focused on strengthening and uplifting communities. Additional conversations are being scheduled throughout the remainder of 2026.
