Residents invited to learn about city-operated recycling transition and best practices
The City of Salisbury will host the next installment of its Cultivating Community Conversations series on Tuesday, June 23, at 6 p.m. at the Salisbury Civic Center, 315 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.
The session will focus on the transition to a city-operated residential recycling program and provide residents with practical information about recycling services and best practices.
Beginning July 1, 2026, residential recycling services will transition from a third-party provider to a city-operated program. This change will allow for greater oversight and improved service for our residents.
Residents will learn more about what to expect as the transition takes effect, including service updates and recycling guidelines. The event will also feature hands-on education about proper recycling practices, including common recycling mistakes, acceptable materials, and tips to help reduce contamination in recycling carts.
Residents are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and learn more about how the new city-operated recycling program will help support a cleaner, more sustainable Salisbury.
