Due to the forecasted weather, the City of Salisbury and the Salisbury Police Department have moved the 43rd annual National Night Out celebration indoors. The event will still take place on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m., but will now be held at the Salisbury Civic Center, 315 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. S, Salisbury, NC 28144.
Everyone is invited to participate, meet and interact with Salisbury Police Department staff.
The celebration will include free food, music and activities for all ages. Community organizations specializing in health, education and other resources will also be on hand. Neighborhood associations, community groups and homeowner associations are welcome to participate.
Salisbury Transit will continue to provide free bus transportation to the event. Riders will not be charged after 4 p.m., and all routes will leave the Civic Center by 7:30 p.m.
