City events offer a variety of ways to participate in annual celebration of water resources
Celebrate our local waterways during the eighth annual Rowan Creek Week, Sept. 12–19. The weeklong celebration features educational, recreational and volunteer activities that help residents explore and protect the water resources around us.
The City of Salisbury and Salisbury-Rowan Utilities will offer several ways to participate:
Storm Drain Marking
Monday, Sept. 14 | 10 a.m. - noon Fred and Alice Stanback Educational Forest and Nature Preserve
Learn how storm drains affect local water quality, then join other volunteers to mark storm drain inlets with reminders that only rain belongs in the drain.
Water & Wastewater Plant Tours
Wednesday, Sept. 16
Go behind the scenes with Salisbury-Rowan Utilities to learn how water is treated and delivered to the community, and how wastewater is cleaned before being returned to the environment.

City Park Lake
Bring the family to City Park Lake for an evening of free fishing provided by the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission and kid-friendly activities hosted by local community organizations.
