Updated time limits give visitors an additional hour in designated on-street parking spaces
Visitors to Downtown Salisbury now have more time when using designated on-street parking spaces. As of September 21, the City increased the parking limit in specific areas from two hours to three hours, following a recommendation from the Downtown Salisbury Parking Plan.
The three-hour limit applies to designated spaces along portions of Main, Innes, Fisher, Bank, Liberty, Church and Depot streets from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. On Council Street, the limit is in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The time limit change provides more flexibility for downtown visitors while helping keep on-street spaces available throughout the day. New three-hour parking signs are being installed throughout the impacted areas; during the transition, some signs may still display the previous two-hour limit.
When parking downtown, always check posted signs for the time limit and hours that apply to your space, as regulations vary by location.
