MULTI-VEHICLE COLLISION AND FATALITY INVESTIGATION

SALISBURY, N.C. (September 23, 2026) — At approximately 7:30 a.m., Salisbury Police officers responded to a report of a serious multi-vehicle collision on South Main Street between Long Meadow Drive and Peeler Road. The crash involved an SUV, a passenger car and a pickup truck and resulted in injuries to occupants.

The Salisbury Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the crash, which resulted in the death of one motorist. The driver of the pickup truck, Jonathan Michael Morgan (DOB: 10/19/1974), died as a result of the crash.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is asked to contact Salisbury Police Department Traffic Safety Officer M. Benjamin at (704) 638-5333. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
