Did you know that you do not need to drive to the mountains or NC State Parks to see wildlife? We are surrounded by exotic wildlife right here in the city of Salisbury! Salisbury naturally offers great habitat for a wide variety of life. From white-tailed deer, to coyotes, turkey, otters, water fowl, and foxes. What draws them to our region is their natural habitats that surround us.
Springtime is here bringing with it a fresh spirit of optimism and a feeling of renewal. This season gives us an opportunity to unencumbered our lives from the trappings of modern living. Spring is a time to simplify, rejuvenate and retool. One way we can do this is by exercising the springtime ritual of spring cleaning.

The City of Salisbury has been named a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of the city’s commitment to effective urban forest management. This is the 36th year Salisbury has earned the national designation.

This month’s employee spotlight is Jake Sterling, Internal Services Manager for the City of Salisbury Public Works Department. For more than 25 years, Jake has worked for the City in various roles ranging from a mechanic, second shift supervisor, fleet supervisor and fleet manager.
On February 28, 2022, at approximately 6:00 PM, a male subject, later identified as Bruce Richard Godwin (32 yrs old), approached a Salisbury Police Officer in the Police Department garage. The male subject advised that he had recently been hired by the Police Department and was there to obtain some of his equipment.

On February 24, 2022, the Salisbury Police Department Narcotic unit ended a multiple-month-long narcotic investigation by serving a search warrant at 1430 North Main St, Salisbury, NC 28144.
