The Salisbury Police Department has charged Cheryl Jean Little, DOB: (05/14/1980) with felony breaking and entering and assault following an investigation into an altercation at a Park Avenue residence.

Detectives with the Salisbury Police Department have identified a juvenile suspect in connection with a July 30, 2026, shooting in which gunfire struck a passing vehicle and a nearby residence in the 700 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

The City of Salisbury Public Works Department will begin Asphalt Surface Treatment on several city streets the week of August 17. Work is expected to take approximately 2½ weeks, weather permitting.

Salisbury Mayor Tamara Sheffield has been named to the North Carolina League of Municipalities Legislative Policy Committee (LPC). Composed of North Carolina local leaders, the LPC will lead the policy development process into the next legislative biennium.
