New Fair Housing Committee Seeks Volunteers

City staff, in partnership with the newly-established Salisbury Fair Housing Committee and the Centralina Council of Governments (CCOG), will work together over the upcoming months to conduct a fair housing study as part of the city’s Analysis of Impediments (AI) update project, in compliance with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Cheerwine Festival Will Return May 18, Vendor Applications Open

The City of Salisbury and Cheerwine are teaming up once again to host the third annual Cheerwine Festival, Saturday, May 18, in downtown Salisbury from noon to 10 p.m. Vendors who want to participate can apply now, at cheerwinefest.com.

City Submits Brownfields Cleanup Application for Kesler Mill

The City of Salisbury will be submitting a grant application to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfields Program to conduct cleanup activities at the former Kesler Mill site located at 423 North Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue. A public meeting will be held to answer questions and accept comments on Monday, January 28, 2019.

Salisbury-Rowan Utilities (SRU) announces the full launch of a new, free web-based customer service tool called EyeOnWater. EyeOnWater gives customers their water usage data gathered by SRU’s “smart meters” in near real time so they can manage their accounts down to the week, day, or even hour.
