The Salisbury Police Department (SPD) responded to a 911 call regarding a disturbance in the 700 block of MLK Jr. Ave. S at approximately 4:10 p,m. While officers were arriving, an updated call indicated there were victims at the Towne Creek Park in the 700 block of E. Monroe St. As officers arrived they found a female and male victim suffering gunshot wounds in the park grounds.

The suspect in the bank robbery at First National Bank yesterday, and who subsequently was shot by a Salisbury Police Officer, has been identified as: Jerick Raheem Gray (4/19/76), a resident of High Point, N.C. Gray died yesterday evening at the hospital of injuries resulting from being shot by the officer. Gray was identified as the driver of the vehicle that officers pursued after the bank robbery.
