On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, Kevin Antonio Smith Jr., (25 yrs old) a suspect with multiple outstanding felony warrants, was apprehended following a vehicle pursuit that extended from Salisbury into Charlotte.

The victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene has been identified as Charles William, an 80-year-old resident of Salisbury. The child, who was also injured in this incident remains in the ICU in critical condition at a local hospital.

Employee Spotlight: Macy Emory
This month’s employee spotlight is Macy Emory, a Senior Administrative Specialist. In her role, Macy provides administrative support to the City Manager and Administration Department. She serves as a liaison between departments and the public, organizes and maintains files and records, and prepares correspondence and reports as needed.
