City of Salisbury will begin nightly road construction, Monday, July 26, in downtown Salisbury in preparation for the Main Street resurfacing project in the fall. The project is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete.
Salisbury Police Detective J.R. Drakeford has been selected as the recipient of the 2021 Special Achievement Award from the North Carolina Gang Investigators Association for his work on statewide gang investigations. He will be honored officially at an awards banquet in August.

The award-winning Salisbury Sculpture Show, curated by the Salisbury Public Art Committee (SPAC), returns to Salisbury for its 13th year. There are 21 sculptures to see throughout the City including downtown Salisbury, local colleges and in neighborhoods.
The City of Salisbury Transit has resumed regular bus service schedules on its ADA Paratransit and regular fixed routes. Regular transit riders were notified of the service change previously.
Today, at approximately 11:50 a.m., the Rowan 911 Center received shots fired calls in the 700 block of N. Lee St. At about the same time a victim with a gunshot wound arrived in the area of the Salisbury Police Department (SPD) headquarters
