The City of Salisbury will hold a public hearing during the Tuesday, May 5, virtual Salisbury City Council meeting, beginning at 6 p.m., to discuss Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funds.
The Salisbury Police Department is investigating a shooting incident in the 900 block of E. Lafayette St., which left one person dead and three injured. Two victims are currently at the local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while one has been airlifted to Baptist Hospital in critical condition. Police are searching the area for additional potential victims.
Salisbury Public Works will introduce a new recycling contractor beginning July 1. Republic Services won the bid after a recent Request for Proposals to manage the city’s recycling program. Detectives with the Salisbury Police Department completed a follow up investigation regarding several complaints of neglect at the Citadel nursing home at 710 Julian Rd. in Salisbury at 10:00 AM on April 23, 2020. Our detectives accompanied the Department of Social Services and the Rowan County Health Department while conducting an inspection of the facilities.
