The Salisbury Police Department is investigating a late-morning shooting at 902 Celebration Drive today in Salisbury. The preliminary investigation suggests a domestic altercation between a father and son. One individual has been taken to Wake Forest Baptist Health Hospital, and is currently listed in critical condition. No names will be released at this time.

     Now in its 12th year, the award-winning Sculpture Show is organized by the Salisbury Public Art Committee (SPAC), and has brought 18 sculptures from across the eastern United States to temporary homes in downtown Salisbury, local colleges and around Salisbury neighborhoods

2020 Census Extended - Be Counted!

The U.S. Census Bureau has announced the new 2020 Census deadline is Wednesday, September 30. Residents are asked to respond as soon as possible to ensure Rowan County secures its fair share of the $675 billion federal dollars. The federal money assists with things like schools, road construction, hospitals, workforce initiatives and substance abuse programs in Rowan County.

Employee Spotlight: Latoya Price, Events Coordinator

Latoya Price is the events coordinator  for Downtown Development/Downtown Salisbury, Incorporated. In her role, Latoya creates various digital marketing material and works with Salisbury Parks and Recreation Department to develop and implement events in Downtown Salisbury. She also communicates and provides support to downtown businesses while building relationships with organizations and local colleges.

2020 Salisbury Community Resource Fair shifts to drive-thru event for parents, students

The Salisbury Community Action Teams (CATS), will host its third annual Community Resource Fair for parents and school children, Saturday, Aug. 15, 9:30 a.m. to noon, at the Civic Center, 315 S. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave. This year’s event will take the form as a drive-thru event to remain consistent with COVID-19 precautions.
